Unsung Hero Awardees 2020
We recognized and celebrated five outstanding, community-nominated, Unsung Hero Awardees at our January Network Connection Meeting. These Unsung Heroes have extended themselves beyond expectation in their community or organization as a leader in maximizing child health and well-being. We admire the way that they continually uplift their communities.

The Wellness Idea Bank is a comprehensive and community-driven guide for those in the Greater Boston Area that helps collect events, ideas, and resources for supporting wellness and social connections. Please check out the new February edition of our community-created Resource Guide, tailored to and focused on relevant and time-sensitive resources for residents of the Greater Boston Area.
Connections and Healing
Massachusetts's National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Peer Support and Education means getting information and support from another person who has been diagnosed with a mental health condition, received mental health services, or has had experiences that are typically labeled as mental health symptoms. Participating in peer support and education can be an important part of managing your wellness, and help you find comfort and community with people who have shared a similar journey. 
Youth Resources
Youth Engagement - Recovery Services CopeCode Challenge encourages youth to incorporate healthy and productive coping skills into their daily routine while alone at home or virtually with friends.
COVID-19 Information and Resources
The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers prepared information about common questions and answers, tips for vaccine talks, and informational videos. Information soon to be available in Arabic, Cape Verdean Creole, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Khmer, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

Quick Facts:
  • The highest percentages of Family Child Care (FCC) providers appear in the neighborhoods of Dorchester (82.5%), Hyde Park (85%), and Roxbury (81.8%) in Boston.

  • Compared to the 0-5 capacity, the center-based preschool program capacity appears relatively high in the neighborhoods of Allston/Brighton (74%), West Roxbury (71.6%), and Charlestown (64.2%). The city's average is 55%.
