An interactive workshop on the legacy of traditional midwives, their gardens, and spiritual tools for community liberation

In this 90-minute workshop, Joyell Arvella, JD, and National Birth Justice Fellowship alum, invites all birth workers and midwives to explore our connection to land, lineage, and plant wisdom. We will learn more about what our midwives grew, the role of herbs in birth and death support, and how midwifery is a blueprint for liberation. Our traditional midwives taught us to tend to birth and plants with our hands. We will explore this ancestral practice and interrogate the question, "What are our hands cultivating in our communities?"
