The mission of the Generations Forward Children’s Collaborative is to promote the well-being of all Whatcom County’s youngest children and their families, and close opportunity gaps associated with race, ethnicity, income and family adversity.

During the learning community, Generations Forward Children’s Collaborative is focusing on the following goals:

1. Courageously address equity to build trust and understanding
2. Formalize and support family centric processes, power, and leadership
3. Build infrastructure needed to realize our collective commitments for children and families

During the learning community, Generations Forward Children’s Collaborative is focusing on the following specific priorities:

1. Honoring and supporting all families in Whatcom County with equal opportunity through building on cultural strengths, celebrating diversity and working across generations
2. Simplifying access to services and resources for families.
3. Improving access to quality, affordable child care.
4. Improving access to social-emotional and behavioral health supports for children, youth and families.
5. Prioritizing funds to support families from marginalized communities.
