Since 2016, Vital Village Network has offered lactation counselor training opportunities for community members. The individuals that have completed one or more of these training opportunities have become known in our Coalition as Breastfeeding Scholars because of their commitment to expanding their knowledge of breastfeeding and counseling skills. 

In the effort to pursue our mission of supporting professional pathways for lactation counselors and in response to requests from the scholars, we began planning for Scholar Support Meetings with leaders from the Coalition.
